Medical Receptionist – Part-Time

About the role

We are currently seeking a mature, reliable and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team. This is a part-time position working two days per week – Monday and Thursday, with additional hours available from time to time to provide leave coverage and support the practice as required. The successful applicant will primarily work within our Wellness Clinic, supporting our 2 Wellness Doctors, while also assisting with general practice reception and administrative duties when required. You will work closely with our doctors, nurses and clinical team to ensure the smooth and professional day-to-day operation of the clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and friendly manner
• Managing a high volume of patient phone enquiries
• Booking appointments and accurately entering patient information
• Managing Wellness Clinic appointments and schedules
• Supporting Dr Francis and Dr Pearce with their daily clinic requirements
• Booking care plans, health assessments and related appointments
• Generating invoices and processing payments
• Processing Medicare claims
• Maintaining doctors' appointment schedules
• Responding to and actioning doctors' requests promptly

About you

• Previous medical reception experience is essential
• Understanding of Medicare item numbers
• Experience with Best Practice and Tyro is advantageous but not essential
• Reliable, punctual and committed
• Strong work ethic and professional presentation
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
• Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality at all times
