Roles and Responsibilities

• Document patients accurately and efficiently in electronic health records (EHR) or other designated systems, capturing medical history, chief complaints, examination findings, and treatment plans.
• Strong typing and data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient records by reviewing documentation for inconsistencies, missing information, and proper coding.
• Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are properly equipped with necessary instruments, supplies, and patient education materials.
• Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Collaborate closely with providers to transcribe and enter information via verbal or written communication into patient records, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to established protocols.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical coding and billing processes.
• Send and follow up with orders for diagnostic testing.
• May perform other duties as necessary
• Must have reliable transportation and be available to travel to other locations without notice.
• Experience Requirements
• Completion of a medical scribe training program or previous experience as a medical scribe is required.
• Familiarity with medical practice management and electronic medical record software

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Scribe Certification

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
