Medication Assistant

Responsibilities

• Safely administer medications to residents following prescribed instructions and healthcare protocols
• Assist with resident personal care, including hygiene, mobility, and daily activities
• Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care through compassionate engagement
• Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with nursing staff to update medical records and report any changes in resident condition promptly

Requirements

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
• Certification in first aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) required; additional certifications such as BLS or hospice care are a plus
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or similar platforms
• Strong communication skills for effective caregiver interactions and resident engagement
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care is advantageous

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
