Medication Assistant LPN

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Assistant LPN to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support patients by assisting with medication administration, ensuring accurate documentation, and providing personalized care to promote well-being and independence.

Duties

• Preparation of medications for patients.
• Receiving and verifying the prescriptions.
• Filling of prescriptions.
• Patient Injections and provide teaching of self-administration of injectable medication.
• Obtaining approval of Practitioners before filling medication.
• Completing patient paperwork related to the filling of prescriptions.
• Assisting with Patient Assistance processing.
• Stocking and rotating of medications in inventory.
• Ensuring availability of drugs and preparing them to both refill and discharge patients.
• Maintain Medication Room standards while assisting Practitioners and volunteers, while providing the highest level of Patient safety.
• Continue and adhere to Medication Room Policies and procedures.
• Practice and follow infection-control procedures, policies and regulations.
• Provide support to other areas as needed, as determined by the Director of Medication Services.

Experience

• Prior experience in Medication Administration is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy.
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records), for medical documentation
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential
• Strong communication skills for caregiver interaction and team collaboration

Qualifications

• LPN with 2 years of relevant experience

Pay: $23.85 - $28.72 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
