We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medication Manager to oversee medication administration and management within our senior living or healthcare facility, for the 2-10pm shift. This vital role ensures the safe, accurate, and compliant distribution of medications to residents or patients, supporting their health and well-being. The Medication Manager will coordinate with healthcare teams, maintain meticulous medical documentation, and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and safety. Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately according to physician orders, including oral, topical, injectable, and tube feeding medications.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs, physiological responses, and overall health status to detect any adverse reactions or changes requiring medical attention.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and caregivers to develop individualized care plans that incorporate medication schedules and special needs such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications in accordance with state healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular medication audits and documentation reviews to uphold accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and supervision to caregiving staff on medication administration procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response actions like CPR or first aid.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with a focus on medication management.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care practices including dementia and memory care.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation is essential.
• Knowledge of state Board of Nursing requirements, HIPAA regulations, and healthcare compliance standards.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely; experience with heavy lifting may be required for resident assistance.
• Excellent communication skills for caregiver collaboration and resident interaction; compassionate approach to patient care.
