What they need

Since 2020, dWELL has been an affirming recovery housing program on a mission to support young adults in their transition to independence through residences and a community-based approach that supports growth and healing. We provide a personalized, foundational, skills-based model that helps young adults pursue their individual life goals.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and highly organized Medication Support Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will focus on medication organization, refill coordination, documentation, adherence support, and communication with pharmacies and healthcare providers to help residents maintain consistent medication routines.

dWELL Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Support Specialist to work either one of the following shifts:

Shift 1: Sunday - Thursday

Shift 2: Monday - Friday

Shift 3: Tuesday - Saturday

Hours: Up to 25 hours per week from 10 AM - 2 PM

What you will do:

  • Medication Entry & Recordkeeping: Enter newly received medications into the electronic medication record system (e.g., OneStep or Kipu), ensuring medication records, quantities, and related information are accurately documented and up to date.
  • Refill Coordination: Proactively monitor medication supplies and upcoming refill dates, coordinate with pharmacies to ensure refills are requested and ready on time, and follow up on delays, prescription issues, or medication availability.
  • Pharmacy Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for pharmacies regarding refill requests, prescription status, medication deliveries, and administrative questions, escalating issues as needed
  • Medication Liaison: Serve as the medication-related liaison between dWELL Recovery and clinical providers coordinating updates, communicating medication needs and concerns, and ensuring relevant information is shared with the appropriate team members.
  • Medication Reconciliation & Discrepancy Reporting: Review medication records against newly received medications and available documentation to identify missing information or discrepancies, and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional or leadership.
  • Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate electronic medication records and communicate medication arrivals, refill status, outstanding requests, and unresolved issues to House Managers, Resident Advisors, and relevant leadership.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Track medication supplies and expiration dates, identify medications that are running low or approaching expiration, and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve processes.
  • Resident Support: Assist residents with organizing their pill organizers upon admission and on a weekly basis thereafter. Develop and maintain medication schedules in accordance with prescriber instructions and established dWELL procedures.

What You Need to Qualify:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, pharmacy, medication support, caregiving, residential services, or a related setting preferred.
  • Experience communicating with pharmacies and coordinating prescription refills strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written medication schedules, established procedures, and instructions from authorized healthcare professionals accurately.
  • Experience using electronic medication record systems (e.g., OneStep or Kipu) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate medication-related updates and concerns clearly.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Comfortable handling confidential resident health information and maintaining appropriate privacy standards.
  • Reliable, responsible, and consistent, with the ability to manage assigned responsibilities independently.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when medication-related concerns require escalation to a qualified healthcare professional.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and meet all applicable employment requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 20–40 lbs occasionally, if required by assigned duties.
  • Ability to stand and walk as needed to complete assigned responsibilities.
