Medication Technician

Overview

The Splendid of Highland Assisted Living Communities is seeking an experienced Medication Technician to join our behavioral health assisted living team.

We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented professional with previous medication technician experience who is comfortable working with residents with behavioral health needs.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, professional, patient, and committed to medication safety and quality resident care.

Duties

• Assist with medication administration in accordance with applicable regulations, provider orders, and facility policies.
• Follow medication schedules and established medication procedures.
• Accurately document medication administration and related information.
• Maintain medication records and assist with medication room organization and inventory.
• Identify and promptly report medication concerns or changes in resident condition to nursing staff.
• Communicate professionally with residents, nursing staff, providers, pharmacies, and other members of the care team.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and follow all facility policies and procedures.
• Provide compassionate and respectful support to residents with behavioral health needs.
• Utilize appropriate communication and de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Promote resident safety, dignity, and independence.

Experience

• Previous Medication Technician/Med Tech experience.
• Strong medication safety and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow medication orders and established procedures accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in behavioral health, mental health, assisted living, adult care, or a similar setting.
• Experience working with residents who have behavioral health diagnoses or complex behavioral needs.
• Familiarity with medication documentation and pharmacy coordination.
