Project Scope We are seeking a MEDITECH Expanse Project Manager to lead a full MEDITECH Expanse redesign and optimization engagement for a rural community hospital and connected Rural Health Clinic network. This role will run the engagement from Mobilization through final acceptance, owning the project plan, change control, change log, and all vendor coordination across a phased, multi-site go-live program.

Position Summary The MEDITECH Project Manager will serve as the named key personnel resource responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from mobilization through final acceptance. This individual will manage MEDITECH as a vendor, run Steering Committee gate meetings, own the risk and issue log, coordinate interface vendors through testing and go-live, and deliver weekly status communications to the client sponsor. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of EHR project management experience with at least 3 years on MEDITECH Expanse, and hands-on experience at a Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, FQHC, or community hospital under 100 beds — large-system-only MEDITECH experience does not qualify.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run Mobilization including access, credentialing, MaaS change request setup, and MEDITECH's implementation schedule for Behavioral Health and Care Compass.
  • Manage MEDITECH as a vendor including task lists, environment refreshes, and MaaS change requests.
  • Own the schedule, risk and issue log, change control, and change log; deliver weekly written status to the client sponsor.
  • Prepare Steering Committee gate packets, run Go/No-Go meetings, and schedule interface vendors for regression testing.
  • Track staffing against plan weekly and prepare monthly progress documentation through final acceptance.
  • Coordinate EHR and interface vendors through testing and go-live across a phased, multi-site rollout.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years managing EHR implementation or optimization projects including 3+ years on MEDITECH Expanse.
  • Demonstrated experience managing MEDITECH as a vendor including task lists, environment refreshes, and MaaS change requests.
  • Experience running Steering Committees and written change control with hospital executives.
  • Experience coordinating EHR and interface vendors through testing and go-live.
  • Hands-on work at a Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, FQHC, or community hospital under 100 beds — large-system-only MEDITECH experience does not qualify.
  • Ability to travel onsite for go-lives as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expanse MaaS experience.
  • Federally funded or grant-funded project experience.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with new-application implementations in Expanse such as Behavioral Health or Care Compass.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Seasoned MEDITECH project manager who can run a complex, multi-site Expanse engagement from mobilization through final acceptance without missing a milestone.
  • Vendor management expert who knows how to hold MEDITECH accountable while keeping the client relationship intact.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a track record of clean change control, clear status reporting, and proactive risk management.
  • Comfortable working with hospital executives, clinical staff, and technical teams across a rural healthcare environment.
  • Brings structure, accountability, and professionalism to every engagement.
