- Verify wiring, polarity, and equipment operation.
- Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing.
- Perform high-potential (high-pot) and other advanced electrical tests only when properly trained and authorized, following approved procedures.
- Troubleshoot wiring and assembly issues and coordinate corrective actions with engineering and quality teams.
- Maintain accurate test results, inspection records, and documentation.
- Follow applicable electrical codes, UL requirements, electrical safety procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with factory acceptance testing and equipment preparation for shipment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use torque tools, multimeters, and other electrical test equipment correctly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to document work accurately and follow established procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety and effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of experience in electrical equipment assembly, industrial electrical work, or electrical testing.
Direct medium voltage experience is strongly preferred.
Experience working with switchgear manufacturers or medium voltage power distribution equipment.
Familiarity with SEL or similar protective relays, CT/PT circuits, or circuit breaker testing.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
Electrical technical training, an electrician license, or NETA/NICET testing credentials.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and bend throughout the workday as needed.
Ability to handle electrical assemblies using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
