What they need

Kongeparken is the largest theme park in Western Norway and the most visited attraction in Rogaland, offering a wide range of experiences for guests of all ages. The park is themed around the King of the Bears, Brumle, Brumleline, and other bear characters, and is also home to the popular Gråtass (Little Grey Fergie) from TV and film. All attractions and stories are built on six core values—Play, Learn, Share, Explore, Magic, and Excitement—aimed at creating memorable moments for both visitors and team members. Kongeparken has received numerous international and national awards for training, marketing, retail, and attraction design, including IAAPA’s Spirit Award and Brass Rings, as well as the prestigious THEA Award. The park is part of Lund Gruppen, a company with roots dating back to 1895, and is continually evolving as a leading destination in Norway’s leisure industry.

The mechanic role at Kongeparken is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting rides and technical installations to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the season. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical faults, replacing worn parts, and documenting all work in accordance with safety standards and internal procedures. The role also involves decorating the park for the different seasons, and collaborating closely with operations staff to minimize downtime, responding quickly to technical issues during park opening hours, and supporting the setup and adjustment of attractions for special events. This is an on-site role based in Ålgård/Figgjo, working within a team-oriented environment where safety, quality, and guest experience are the highest priorities.

  • Strong mechanical skills and experience with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery, preferably in amusement parks, industrial settings, or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, mechanical standards, and safe work practices, with a commitment to following procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems, with the ability to read technical drawings and manuals and use common diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team, with a practical mindset, good problem-solving skills, and a focus on reliability and quality.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays during the park’s operating season, and to respond flexibly to operational needs.
  • Relevant vocational education or apprenticeship in mechanics, industrial mechanics, automotive mechanics, or a related technical field.
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language; English skills are an advantage.
  • Previous experience in theme parks, entertainment venues, or customer-focused environments is beneficial, as is an interest in creating safe
