POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable

organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development, Healthy Living, and

Social Responsibility. The Membership Representative acts as a professional role model at the Jackson

YMCA. The Membership Representative at Jackson YMCA maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere

that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Membership Representative responds to member and

guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Build a positive first impression by warmly greeting all members and guests while maintaining

a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment.

• Deliver exceptional member service by building collaborative relationships, anticipating

member needs, and resolving questions and concerns in a courteous, solutions-focused

manner.

• Process memberships, program registrations, account changes, and financial transactions

accurately using YMCA systems and established procedures.

• Maintain accurate member records, documentation, and reports while ensuring confidentiality

of member information.

• Follow all cash handling, financial reporting, and accountability procedures.
• Promote YMCA programs, services, events, and membership opportunities to members and

guests.

• Assist with member engagement and retention efforts, including facility tours, follow-up

communications, and outreach to current and prospective members.

• Support YMCA fundraising initiatives
• Maintain effective communication with members, volunteers, staff, and leadership.
• Exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and initiative while working independently and as

part of a team.

• In the event of an injury or emergency, you will serve as safety responder, (responding,

reporting, and preventing). Adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures for Jackson

YMCA.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY

1. Identify potential risks in programs, facilities or equipment and take steps to reduce or

eliminate hazards.

2. Follow all YMCA safety, child-protection, and emergency-response policies, procedures, and

trainings.

3. Model safe behaviors, correct unsafe conditions, and promote a culture of awareness and

accountability.

4. Promptly report incidents, suspicious behavior, or safety concerns

5. Participate in ongoing safety and risk-management training, drills, and

continuous-improvement efforts while maintaining required certifications.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS

1. Act as a professional role model by consistently demonstrating behavior that reflects the

YMCA’s values and inspires others to do the same

2. Support YMCA fundraising efforts by building relationships, sharing the Y’s impact, and

participating in campaigns and events as assigned.

3. Serve as an advocate for the YMCA by promoting its mission, programs, and community value

in all interactions with members, partners, and the public.

4. Protect and strengthen the YMCA brand by modeling the core values, delivering high-quality

service, and ensuring communications and behaviors align with the mission
