Principal Responsibilities:

The Membership Specialist sells new memberships, keeps current members engaged and serves as onsite supervisor for front desk staff. The JCC serves more than 7,000 members.

We are looking for a driven salesperson who builds relationships easily, follows up on everything and wants to grow with the JCC.

Performance Objectives

• Meet or exceed the monthly individual sales goal
• Close at least 70% of tours and qualified prospects
• Respond to every inquiry within one business day
• Reduce cancellations, and complete an exit interview with every departing member
• Convert families in JCC camps, schools and programs into members
• Generate leads, give tours and sell new memberships
• Onboard new members and run renewal and retention outreach
• Supervise front desk staff onsite, including daily assignments, shift coverage, training and coaching
• Make recommendations to Membership leadership on front desk hiring, scheduling and performance
• Resolve member concerns and escalations
• Cover the welcome desk during absences and peak periods
• Keep member records accurate in the membership system

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• Associate's degree
• 2 or more years of sales or retail experience with a record of meeting goals
• Excellent communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or database systems
• Comfort with incentive-based compensation
• Bachelor's degree
• Sales experience in a membership organization such as a JCC, YMCA or health club
• Experience supervising front desk, retail or customer service staff
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including building tours, and to lift up to 25 pounds
• Full-time schedule that includes early mornings and evenings

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000 annually, plus sales incentives
