MEP Cost Engineer

Role Description The MEP Cost Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Bangkok City, Thailand, with flexibility for some work from home. The person in this role will prepare and review cost estimates and budgets for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across various building projects. Daily tasks include analyzing drawings and specifications, preparing quantity take-offs, evaluating contractor proposals, and monitoring project costs against budgets. The MEP Cost Engineer will support cost planning, value engineering, and tender evaluations, as well as assist in preparing reports and presentations for clients. Collaboration with project managers, design consultants, and site teams is required to ensure cost efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery of project information.

Qualifications

• Strong cost control and cost management skills for MEP works, including monitoring and reporting project expenditures.
• Demonstrated cost engineering and budgeting capabilities, with the ability to develop and maintain detailed cost plans.
• Solid analytical skills to interpret technical information, assess cost risks, and support value engineering decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field), Quantity Surveying, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in MEP quantity surveying or cost engineering within building or infrastructure projects is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency in relevant cost estimating and office software (e.g., Excel, cost management tools, CAD/ BIM exposure is an advantage).
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients and contractors.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
