MEP Draftsman

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman to prepare accurate technical drawings and layouts for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in AutoCAD, a good understanding of MEP systems, and the ability to coordinate with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed MEP drawings, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Develop and modify shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings, and technical layouts using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers, consultants, and project teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify and resolve discrepancies or clashes.
• Ensure all drawings comply with approved designs, project specifications, UAE regulations, and relevant engineering standards.
• Prepare detailed sections, elevations, schematics, and installation drawings for MEP services.
• Incorporate revisions and modifications based on consultant comments and site requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation, drawing registers, and updated records of all technical drawings.
• Assist engineers in preparing material take-offs and technical documentation when required.
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure drawings reflect actual installation requirements.
• Prepare and update as-built drawings based on completed site installations.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings according to project schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as an MEP Draftsman, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements, engineering standards, and drawing submission procedures.
• Experience preparing shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
