MEP Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MEP Engineer to join China Construction First Group Corporation Limited. This is a full-time position based in South Jakarta, Jakarta. As an MEP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for our construction projects. This position is essential to ensuring that all MEP installations meet international standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications whilst maintaining cost-effectiveness and schedule adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop MEP systems including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations for various construction projects
• Prepare detailed MEP drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using CAD software and industry-standard tools
• Conduct coordination meetings with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems
• Perform calculations and analysis for HVAC loads, electrical panel sizing, water supply and drainage systems
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, Indonesian regulations, and international standards throughout the design and construction phases
• Monitor construction progress and conduct site inspections to verify that MEP installations are carried out according to approved designs
• Troubleshoot and resolve MEP-related issues that arise during construction or commissioning
• Prepare cost estimates and material schedules for MEP systems
• Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure quality standards and timely delivery of MEP components
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and maintain records of all design changes and approvals

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in MEP engineering within the construction industry
• Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, and plumbing design principles
• Familiarity with Indonesian building codes and regulations (SNI - Standar Nasional Indonesia)
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and project management practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Good communication skills in both English and Indonesian (preferred)
• Professional certification or registration as an engineer (PII membership or equivalent) is advantageous
• Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is preferred
