MEP Engineer

About the Role

Looking for a qualified and experienced MEP Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, review, and supervision of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for various building and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, experience working within an engineering consultancy environment, and a good understanding of UAE building codes, authority requirements, and project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate MEP engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Design and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and related building services systems.
• Review MEP drawings and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved designs, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor MEP installation works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Identify design and construction issues and provide appropriate technical solutions.
• Review contractor/shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
• Assist in obtaining and coordinating UAE authority approvals and NOCs where required.
• Monitor MEP works for quality, progress, and compliance with approved designs.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical input on MEP-related matters.
• Prepare inspection reports, technical reports, snag lists, and other project documentation.
• Review testing and commissioning activities and ensure MEP systems are properly completed and operational.
• Ensure all MEP works comply with relevant UAE regulations, international standards, and authority requirements.
• Support project teams in resolving technical and coordination issues during design and construction stages.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of MEP design and site activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related MEP discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant MEP engineering experience, preferably with an engineering consultancy in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design, coordination, and site supervision.
• Experience with residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use building projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of UAE authority requirements, codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP / BIM is highly preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and building services coordination.
• Good knowledge of project documentation, technical submissions, and authority approval processes.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• UAE driving license is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant professional engineering certification or membership is an advantage.
• UAE consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience dealing with UAE authorities and obtaining project approvals.
• Experience with BIM/Revit MEP and multidisciplinary coordination.
