MEP Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify project requirements and scope of work.
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting systems.
• Prepare cost estimates, pricing schedules, and tender submissions for MEP projects.
• Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential risks.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals in accordance with tender requirements.
• Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Compare supplier quotations, assess technical compliance, and identify cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare material and equipment cost breakdowns, labor estimates, and related cost components.
• Coordinate with the Procurement, Engineering, and Commercial teams to obtain the required technical and commercial information.
• Prepare tender clarifications, technical queries, and requests for information (RFIs), when required.
• Ensure tender submissions are complete, accurate, and submitted within the specified deadlines.
• Maintain tender records, cost databases, and historical pricing information for future reference.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP engineering, particularly in tendering and estimation.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical systems.
• Proven experience in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and cost estimation.
• Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Experience in supplier and subcontractor quotation analysis and comparison.
• Knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, installation methods, and market pricing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant estimation tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and commercial skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Experience in construction and infrastructure tenders is preferred.
