MEP Estimator

We are seeking an experienced MEP Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works, reviewing tender documents, preparing quantity take-offs, obtaining supplier/subcontractor quotations, and supporting the tendering and commercial teams throughout the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work to identify MEP requirements.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and other cost calculations.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed BOQs and pricing breakdowns for MEP works.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements to identify discrepancies, exclusions, and potential risks.
• Coordinate with the Engineering, Procurement, Project, and Commercial teams to ensure accurate pricing.
• Prepare tender submissions, including commercial and technical pricing documents.
• Conduct cost comparisons and market price analysis to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
• Review and evaluate variations, additional works, and revised scope where required.
• Maintain and update cost databases, supplier rates, and historical project pricing.
• Assist in preparing value engineering proposals and cost-saving alternatives.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings and provide technical/commercial input when required.
• Ensure estimates are prepared within the required tender deadlines.
• Maintain proper records of estimates, quotations, calculations, and supporting documents.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in MEP estimation within the construction industry.
• Strong experience in estimating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works.
• Experience with commercial, residential, hospitality, high-rise, or other major construction projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, installation methods, construction practices, and applicable standards.
• Good understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, cost analysis, and tender pricing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant estimation software.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict tender deadlines.
• Candidates who can join immediately or within one month are preferred.
