MEP Lead Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise MEP engineering and technical office activities for tendering and project execution.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify project requirements and scope of work.
• Oversee quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and technical inputs required for MEP tender submissions.
• Review and coordinate MEP design drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure proper coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting systems with other engineering disciplines.
• Review technical proposals, material submittals, and supplier quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Identify design discrepancies, technical risks, and potential cost optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Commercial, Project Management, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
• Lead the preparation and review of technical clarifications, RFIs, and responses to client and consultant comments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Supervise and guide MEP engineers and technical office team members.
• Monitor engineering deliverables and ensure timely submission of tender and project documentation.
• Support value engineering, technical evaluations, and alternative design proposals where applicable.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP engineering, including at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Experience in an Engineering & Technical Office environment, particularly in tendering, estimation, and technical coordination.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical systems.
• Proven experience in reviewing tender documents, BOQs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and technical proposal preparation.
• Strong ability to coordinate MEP systems with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant engineering tools.
• Strong leadership, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Experience in construction and infrastructure projects is preferred.
