MEP Procurement

We are seeking an experienced MEP Procurement professional with a minimum of 3 years of relevant UAE experience in the construction or MEP industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery, competitive pricing, and compliance with project specifications.

Candidates with proven UAE MEP procurement experience will be shortlisted.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete procurement process for MEP materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
• Review project requirements, BOQs, specifications, drawings, and material submittals to identify procurement requirements.
• Source and evaluate local and international suppliers for MEP materials and equipment.
• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure purchases are made in accordance with approved requirements.
• Coordinate closely with the Project, Engineering, QS, Commercial, Stores, and Finance teams to ensure smooth procurement activities.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials as per project requirements and schedules.
• Monitor material availability, lead times, delivery status, and potential procurement delays.
• Develop and maintain a reliable database of approved suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify alternative suppliers and materials where required while maintaining project specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with technical and project teams for material approvals and technical compliance.
• Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, price, delivery, and service.
• Maintain proper procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, delivery documents, and supplier correspondence.
• Assist in resolving issues related to material shortages, delayed deliveries, quality issues, and supplier claims.
• Monitor market prices and maintain knowledge of current UAE MEP suppliers and material rates.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for better commercial terms.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and project timelines.

MEP Materials & Equipment

The candidate should have good knowledge of procurement related to:

• HVAC equipment and materials
• Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and ventilation equipment
• Ducting and accessories
• Electrical cables and cable accessories
• Electrical panels, DBs, SMDBs, and MCCs
• Lighting fixtures and accessories
• Switchgear and electrical equipment
• Pipes, fittings, valves, and plumbing materials
• Firefighting and fire alarm materials
• Pumps and water supply systems
• Sanitaryware and plumbing fixtures
• ELV materials and systems
• Other construction and MEP-related materials

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant MEP procurement experience in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE MEP construction market and local suppliers.
• Experience dealing with MEP manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of MEP materials, specifications, brands, and technical requirements.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience with ERP/procurement software is an advantage.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project procurement deadlines.

Important Requirement

UAE MEP procurement experience is mandatory. Candidates without relevant MEP procurement experience in the UAE may not be considered.

Candidates who have experience specifically in MEP procurement within the UAE construction industry will be given priority during the shortlisting process.
