This role owns MEP coordination, subcontractor management, budget and schedule performance, and quality control from preconstruction through closeout on projects ranging from heavy industrial facilities to large manufacturing plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of MEP project execution, including preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout, for industrial/manufacturing projects.

- Develop and manage MEP budgets, cost forecasts, and change order processes; track cost-to-complete and report variances.
- Build and maintain the MEP project schedule; identify critical path risks and drive mitigation.
- Review and approve MEP subcontractor scopes, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
- Oversee procurement and long-lead equipment tracking (switchgear, generators, chillers, process piping, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes (NEC, IMC, IPC), and client/owner standards.
- Manage commissioning and start-up activities in coordination with owner, engineers, and equipment vendors.
- Supervise and mentor assistant project managers, project engineers, and field superintendents on MEP scope.
- Conduct regular site walks and progress meetings with subcontractors and ownership.
- Maintain strong safety compliance and quality standards across MEP trades on site.
- Support business development and client relationships on existing and future industrial/manufacturing accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of MEP project management experience, with a strong preference for industrial, manufacturing, or heavy commercial construction background.
- Proven experience managing large-scale MEP scopes ($10M+ preferred) on a GC or CM-at-risk basis.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, process utilities, and industrial equipment installation.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project) and BIM coordination tools.
- Experience managing subcontractor buyout, contracts, and change order negotiation.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IMC, IPC, OSHA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Willingness to be based on-site in the Atlanta area with travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred
- OSHA 30 certification.
- PE license or PMP certification a plus.
- Experience in food & beverage, automotive, data center, or heavy manufacturing environments.
