MEP Site Engineer – Electrical

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MEP Site Engineer – Electrical to supervise and coordinate electrical works at construction sites in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will be responsible for site execution, installation, testing, commissioning, inspections, and coordination with other MEP and civil teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor electrical installation works at the project site.
• Ensure electrical works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents.
• Coordinate electrical works with HVAC, plumbing, civil, and other MEP activities.
• Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for site activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper workmanship.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
• Ensure installations comply with applicable UAE standards and project specifications.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
• Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with consultants.
• Supervise testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Identify site issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, and quality requirements.
• Maintain records of drawings, inspections, testing, and site activities.

Electrical Systems

Experience in some or all of the following is preferred:

• LV electrical systems
• DBs, SMDBs and MDBs
• Cable laying and termination
• Cable trays and trunking
• Lighting and power systems
• Earthing and lightning protection
• Fire alarm systems
• Emergency lighting
• ELV systems
• Testing and commissioning
• Electrical containment and installation works

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant site experience in MEP/electrical works.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation and site coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Good knowledge of electrical materials, installation methods, testing, and commissioning.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, subcontractors, and other MEP disciplines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
