MEP Technical Engineer – TAQA/ADDC Experience

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MEP Technical Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will be responsible for technical coordination, drawings, material submittals, inspections, authority approvals, and ensuring MEP works comply with project specifications and applicable TAQA/ADDC requirements and UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate MEP drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings, as-built drawings, technical submissions, and material submittals.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and other MEP services with architectural and structural works.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Prepare and submit technical documents for consultant and authority approval.
• Coordinate with relevant Abu Dhabi authorities and utility providers, including TAQA/ADDC, where applicable.
• Ensure electrical works comply with applicable TAQA/ADDC requirements, project specifications, and approved drawings.
• Attend site inspections and coordinate with consultants/authority representatives.
• Review technical issues, RFIs, and site queries and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
• Monitor MEP installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and inspection activities.
• Assist in obtaining required approvals and clearances for MEP works.
• Review contractor/subcontractor work and identify technical discrepancies.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, inspection requests, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate material procurement with the approved technical specifications.
• Ensure proper handover documentation, including testing reports, commissioning records, and as-built drawings.
• Support the Project Manager and Site Engineers with technical matters.

TAQA / ADDC Requirements

The candidate should have practical knowledge of applicable TAQA/ADDC requirements and procedures, including:

• Electrical service/connection requirements.
• Electrical drawings and technical submissions.
• Authority inspection and approval procedures.
• Coordination of electrical installations with utility requirements.
• Load schedules and electrical calculations.
• LV electrical systems and distribution.
• Metering and electrical connection requirements.
• Coordination with consultants and authority representatives.
• Compliance with approved drawings and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / MEP Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant MEP experience in the UAE.
• Previous experience with Abu Dhabi projects is preferred.
• Practical experience with TAQA/ADDC approvals and requirements is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience in shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, inspections, and authority coordination.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
