MEP Technical Manager

We are seeking an experienced MEP Technical Manager to oversee the technical aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the technical aspects of all MEP works, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and ELV systems.
• Review and coordinate MEP design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, BOQs, and construction documents.
• Manage technical submissions, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and technical queries.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies, technical conflicts, and MEP coordination issues with architectural, structural, and civil teams.
• Ensure all MEP designs and installations comply with UAE regulations, applicable international standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate authority approvals and inspections with relevant authorities, including DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Civil Defence, as applicable to the project.
• Provide technical support to site teams during construction and resolve engineering issues that may affect project progress.
• Review technical proposals, equipment selections, and alternative solutions to improve cost efficiency and project performance.
• Monitor the status of technical submissions, drawing approvals, and engineering deliverables to meet project deadlines.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, system integration, and handover of MEP systems.
• Ensure the preparation and submission of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and other close-out documents.
• Supervise and guide MEP engineers and technical staff, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy and documentation.
• Work closely with project management, procurement, planning, and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the UAE construction industry, with strong exposure to MEP engineering and technical coordination.
• Previous experience in an MEP Technical Manager, Senior MEP Engineer, or similar technical leadership role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and ELV systems.
• Proven experience in reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, and RFIs.
• Good knowledge of UAE construction regulations, authority approval procedures, and relevant international standards.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP, Navisworks, and BIM coordination is an advantage.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple technical deliverables and meet project deadlines.
• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments is an advantage.
