ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced MEPFS Engineer based in the Philippines to provide high-quality building services design, drafting, modelling, documentation, and technical support to our Australian Building Services Engineering team.

Working remotely, you will contribute across mechanical (HVAC and hydraulics), electrical, and fire protection disciplines, with all work delivered in accordance with Australian Standards and project specifications under the direction and review of Australian-based Engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, Drafting & Documentation

• Perform building services design and analysis across HVAC, hydraulics, electrical, and fire protection disciplines using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.

• Prepare load calculations, system sizing, equipment schedules, and supporting design documentation for review by Senior Engineers.

• Prepare, develop, and revise detailed construction documentation including plans, sections, schematics, riser diagrams, details, and schedules.

• Coordinate MEP and fire services with structural and architectural elements, identifying and resolving clashes.

• Assist with technical reports including energy reports, hydraulic statements, and design narratives.

Project Delivery

• Deliver allocated design and drafting tasks in line with agreed project milestones and budgets.

• Understand scope of works before commencing tasks to avoid rework.

• Raise technical or documentation queries early to avoid delays.

• Accurately record timesheets and meet utilisation targets.

Quality & Compliance

• Follow company QA procedures, drafting standards, and documentation protocols.

• Ensure drawings and documentation are accurate, coordinated, and complete prior to internal review.

• Comply with company HSE, data security, and information management requirements.

Communication & Collaboration

• Maintain clear and proactive communication with the Australian manager and team members.

• Participate in coordination meetings as required.

• Respond promptly to feedback, review comments, mark-ups, and redlines.

• Contribute positively to team culture and knowledge sharing.

ROLE BOUNDARIES

• All engineering and drafting work is performed under the supervision of a Chartered/Registered Australian Engineer.

• This role does not involve issuing certified documentation or providing independent engineering approval.

• No direct responsibility for client management, proposals, invoicing, or contract administration unless specifically delegated.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent Building Services engineering degree (4-year degree or equivalent).

• Philippine Professional Engineer licence is desirable but not essential.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in building services / MEPFS design consultancy.

• Demonstrated experience preparing building services construction documentation across at least one primary discipline — mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or fire services.

• Experience supporting Australian or international projects is highly regarded.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Revit MEP for building services modelling and documentation.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and detail production.

• Knowledge of HVAC system design: load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection.

• Knowledge of hydraulic system design: cold water, hot water, sanitary, and stormwater.

• Knowledge of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting design, and switchboard layouts.

• Understanding of fire protection system design (sprinkler, hydrant, detection) is a distinct advantage.

• Familiarity with Australian Standards and documentation conventions is desirable.
