About Our Client

A globally renowned lifestyle apparel company with iconic brands, our client is seeking a high-caliber Merchandise Manager (Denim / Woven Apparel) to lead its Asia Sourcing team, driving product development and sourcing strategies for the North American market.

The Role

Lead a robust team to deliver business results across product development and sourcing. Drive vendor strategy, cost optimization, and operational excellence while mentoring talent and ensuring alignment with global corporate directions.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Manage vendor matrix, consolidation, and allocation planning for cost-effective results.
• Cost Management: Lead costing negotiations, analyze cost components, and drive margin improvement.
• Vendor Management: Streamline vendor base and build strategic supplier partnerships (South Asia, China, Africa, Egypt).
• Project Leadership: Drive best practices, speed-to-market initiatives, and GTM calendar execution.
• Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and structure a high-performing merchandising team.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with US brand teams, regional offices, and cross-functional internal partners.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Textiles, or related disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in apparel merchandising/sourcing (denim bottoms, woven & knit tops); at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Skills: Strong commercial acumen, cost negotiation, vendor management, and strategic planning.
• Leadership: Proven ability to coach and develop teams.
• Communication: Fluent in English (verbal & written); proactive and conflict-resolving mindset.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a culturally diverse environment and flexible with time zones (occasional late calls for US meetings).
