Merchandise (Product Development)

Position Purpose

• Develop commercially successful products that align with the brand identity, achieve target cost and margin, and are delivered on schedule. This role manages the entire product development process—from concept and specifications to sampling, bulk production, and final delivery—while ensuring supplier quality meets TWOTWICE standards.

Key Responsibilities
Product Development

• Translate briefs from the Brand, Design, and Marketing teams into product plans, specifications, and development timelines.
• Collaborate on materials, silhouettes, trims, functional details, and packaging to match brand positioning and target retail prices.
• Create and maintain Tech Packs, Specification Sheets, and Color & Material references for production.

Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers for fabrics, leather, trims, factories, and packaging.
• Request quotations and compare costs, MOQ, lead time, quality, and payment terms.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to optimize costs without compromising brand image or quality.

Sampling & Production Follow-up

• Plan sample development and coordinate revisions through final approval.
• Monitor bulk production to ensure products meet specifications and delivery schedules.
• Resolve production issues such as color discrepancies, material shortages, and construction errors until completion.

Costing & Margin Control

• Prepare product costing and analyze the impact on gross profit and margins.
• Recommend cost optimization through materials, production techniques, quantities, and packaging while maintaining a premium product image.
• Review actual production costs to improve future product planning.

Quality & Delivery

• Partner with QC to inspect product quality, including materials, stitching, printing, embroidery, hardware, and functionality.
• Manage claims and corrective actions with suppliers when products fail to meet standards.
• Provide product information to Warehouse and Sales teams, including specifications, quantities, care instructions, and handling guidelines.

Documentation & Systems

• Maintain complete documentation, including quotations, specifications, sample approvals, timelines, purchase orders, and invoice tracking.
• Update weekly project status reports, highlighting completed tasks, issues, and upcoming deadlines for cross-functional visibility.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in Merchandise, Product Development, Sourcing, or Production Coordination.
• Experience in Fashion, Accessories, Leather Goods, or Ready-to-Wear (RTW) is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the product development process, from sampling to bulk production.
• Ability to read specifications, manage product quality, and coordinate production effectively.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with suppliers, with strong awareness of timelines and production risks.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing documents, costing, and numerical data.

Preferred Skills

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for costing, MOQ analysis, and timeline management.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for production communication.
• Established network of suppliers and manufacturing partners is an advantage.
