The Sharing Center is celebrating 40 years of preventing hunger and homeless in Seminole County and we are looking for a new team member to help us grow. The Sharing Center is currently seeking a Merchandiser Lead to join us. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Retail.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and the position requires prolonged periods of standing. The Sharing Center campus has multiple retail programs and operations. Therefore, walking between departments is required.

Overall Responsibility: The Merchandiser Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sales floor operations of the Thrift Store, Boutique, and Furniture Store.

Responsibilities include:

• Open, close, and secure store
• Schedule, assign, and follow up on tasks to staff and volunteers
• Oversee, train, and coach staff and volunteers
• Supervise merchandising for all three stores
• Supervise donations of furniture
• Coordinate with Senior Manager of Retail and Distribution Center to ensure product is promptly stocked
• Provide customers service that exceeds customers’ expectations
• Respond to customer complaints and comments
• Oversee and grow the customer loyalty program
• Develop and implement store policies and procedures
• Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean environment
• Maintain the physical appearance of the stores, inside and outside
• Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
• Establish relationships with the customers and donors
• Achieve store daily, monthly, and yearly sales goals
• Report physical, equipment and operational needs
• Analyze current processes and procedures and recommend changes to improve business
• Collaborate with The Sharing Center departments to fulfill our mission of providing and generating revenue to meet the needs of our community
• Additional duties as assigned
• Time Requirements: The Merchandiser is a full time (40 hours) position requiring availability on Saturdays and holidays. May also include special events after normal business hours.
• Qualifications: A minimum of two years customer service experience
• Vigorous attention to detail while executing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication (written, oral, interpersonal) and grammar skills
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Proven track record of learning and mastering point of sales systems
• Salary Rate: $17.00 per hour depending on work experience and individual's qualifications
