Merchandising Manager

About the role

Global Dollarstore Inc. is seeking an experienced Merchandising Manager (FMCG) to lead our merchandising operations and drive business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing merchandising strategies, managing product categories, sourcing suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring the right products are available at the right time across all stores.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute merchandising strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory performance.
• Manage product assortment, category planning, pricing, and promotional activities.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable business terms.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and business partners.
• Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends to optimize product selection.
• Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving items and recommend appropriate inventory actions.
• Plan seasonal merchandise, product launches, and promotional campaigns.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure product availability and timely replenishment.
• Conduct competitor analysis and identify new product opportunities based on consumer demand.
• Lead and mentor the merchandising team to achieve department objectives.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in the FMCG, retail, supermarket, convenience store, or wholesale industry.
• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Category Management, Supplier/Vendor Negotiation, Inventory Planning, Pricing Strategy, Demand Forecasting, and Retail Operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and retail merchandising systems.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
• Results-driven with strong business acumen and decision-making abilities.
