JOB SUMMARY

The Merchandising Manager - Fresh Categories is responsible for managing the merchandising, purchasing, and performance of fresh and perishable product categories, including dairy, frozen products, and other fresh items. The role ensures product availability, quality, competitive pricing, inventory efficiency, and sales and profitability target achievement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement merchandising strategies for dairy, frozen, and other fresh product categories.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and purchasing plans based on sales performance and customer demand.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
• Monitor sales performance, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and product movement.
• Ensure proper stock rotation, replenishment, and inventory control to minimize spoilage, wastage, and expired products.
• Maintain product quality, freshness, and compliance with proper storage and temperature requirements, particularly for dairy and frozen products.
• Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
• Monitor supplier performance, product quality, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Store Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure efficient product handling and availability.
• Review slow-moving and fast-moving items and implement strategies to improve sales and inventory turnover.
• Prepare reports on sales, gross margins, inventory, wastage, and category performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and merchandising standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in merchandising, purchasing, or category management, preferably in a supermarket.
• Experience handling fresh, dairy, frozen, or perishable product categories is highly preferred.
• Knowledgeable in supplier negotiation, sales forecasting, inventory management, pricing, and product profitability.
• Understanding of cold-chain management, product shelf life, stock rotation, and food safety standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Results-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting sales and profitability targets.
• Willing to work on-site in Tabaco City, Albay.
