MES Assistant Engineer

Responsibilities :

• Use MES to monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of SMT machines and the overall production line, aiming for increased throughput, reduced downtime, and improved quality control.
• Provide ongoing support to shop floor operators and other production staff in using the MES system for daily operations, such as material tracking, production status, and machine diagnostics.
• Collect and analyze machine and production data for real-time reporting, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), yield analysis, and process performance monitoring.
• Implement data flow structures for effective communication between devices and systems. Handle data exchanges between MES and other systems like SAP
• Configure, manage, and maintain the SQL databases that store manufacturing data, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
• Develop and execute SQL queries for reporting purposes and data extraction from the MES database to support real-time analysis, dashboards, and decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade MES systems or related software to improve performance, enhance features, or introduce new capabilities for better integration with machines.
• Work closely with the SMT engineers, IT department, and other stakeholders to ensure that machine and system configurations meet the requirements of the production line.
• Work with equipment vendors to ensure the compatibility of the SMT machines with the MES system and help in setting up or troubleshooting machine-to-machine communication protocols.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server or other database systems for configuring and maintaining the database. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to handle production data.
• In-depth understanding of SMT processes, equipment (Laser mark, pick-and-place machines, SPI, AOI inspection, ICT & FCT test), and data integration with MES systems.
• Strong expertise in machine-to-machine communication, especially between SMT equipment and MES systems.
• Experience in configuring and integrating MES software with production equipment and ensuring smooth data exchange across platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities, particularly in MES-related issues or when resolving data inconsistencies between machines and the system.
• Experience in automating production processes and optimizing real-time production data flows to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.

Requirement :

• A degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
• Certification in MES, PLC, or Data Integration may be preferred.
• At least 3 years working experience in same related field.
