MES System Engineer (Syncade) - 7118

For our client, an international company operating in a highly regulated industrial environment, we are looking for an experienced MES System Engineer (Syncade).

This is a 100% site-based position in Visp offered initially for 12 months, with a possibility of extension .

Main Responsibilities

• Configure, develop, maintain, and support Emerson Syncade MES applications and electronic batch records (EBRs).
• Design and implement manufacturing workflows, recipes, forms, materials management, and process models within Syncade.
• Provide technical support for MES operations, including troubleshooting, incident management, root cause analysis, and system optimization.
• Lead and support Syncade enhancements, upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle management activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Validation, and IT teams to translate business requirements into MES solutions.
• Support integration of Syncade with DeltaV, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), historians, LIMS, and other manufacturing applications.
• Develop and maintain GMP-compliant documentation including Functional Specifications, Design Specifications, Risk Assessments, Test Protocols, Change Controls, and SOPs.
• Participate in commissioning, qualification, CSV, and validation activities for MES projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on digital manufacturing, batch execution efficiency, and process standardization.
• Ensure data integrity, cybersecurity compliance, system reliability, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, and periodic system reviews.
• Provide user training and ongoing support to manufacturing and business stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
• Hands-on experience with Emerson Syncade MES implementation, configuration, or support.
• Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, batch execution, and electronic batch records.
• Experience in MES deployment projects, system upgrades, and operational support.
• Knowledge of GAMP5, GMP, ALCOA+, Data Integrity, and Computer System Validation (CSV) requirements.
• Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong expertise with Emerson Syncade MES platform.
• Experience configuring EBRs, workflows, materials management, recipe management, and equipment models.
• Familiarity with DeltaV integration and other automation systems.
• Understanding of MES interfaces with ERP (SAP), LIMS, Historian, and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of SQL databases, reporting tools, and data analysis.
• Understanding of OT/IT infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), and server environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles within GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience with validation documentation and change management processes.
