MET Technician
National Accident Repair Ltd | Full-Time |
About the Role
National Accident Repair Services is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented MET Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. As one of the UK's leading vehicle accident repair networks, we work with major insurers and fleet operators to get vehicles back on the road safely and to manufacturer standard. In this role, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain collision-damaged vehicles — removing and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components as part of the wider repair process. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills within a well-established, nationwide business that invests in its people.
What You'll Do
- Perform accurate diagnosis of collision damage using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strip and rebuild vehicles — removing and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) components to a high standard
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, structural components, and mechanical parts
- Use hand tools, power tools, and safe lifting techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Follow manufacturer repair methods and NAR safety protocols on every job
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and work completed for each vehicle
- Work closely with bodyshop colleagues (panel, paint, and admin teams) to keep repairs on schedule without compromising quality
- Carry out final checks and road tests to confirm vehicles are safe, fully functional, and ready for the customer
What You'll Bring
- Strong MET/collision repair techniques with solid mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems
- Confident, safe use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to safely lift and handle large or bulky vehicle parts
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to follow technical instructions and safety guidelines diligently
- IMI/ATA Level 3 MET qualification (or working towards) preferred
- Full UK driving licence required
- Previous experience in a bodyshop or accident repair environment is an advantage
What NAR Offers
- Competitive, permanent full-time salary
- Ongoing manufacturer and technical training to support career development
- Access to modern equipment and a well-resourced workshop
- Career progression within one of the UK's largest accident repair networks
- [Benefits — e.g., pension, holiday entitlement, tool insurance, uniform provided — confirm specifics]
