At Fix Auto Walsall, we’re committed to delivering safe, high-quality accident repairs with care and attention to detail. We’re looking for an experienced MET Technician to join our BSI Kitemark-approved repair centre and play a key role in restoring accident-damaged vehicles.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Dismantling and reassembling accident-damaged vehicles safely and efficiently, following job cards and manufacturer repair methods
• Removing, storing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components
• Identifying hidden damage and reporting additional parts or repair requirements to the Vehicle Damage Assessor
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment
• Repairing and replacing damaged steering, suspension, cooling and associated components within your training and competence
• Carrying out pre- and post-repair diagnostic checks and recording findings
• Working on lighting, sensors and safety restraint systems in accordance with manufacturer procedures and your qualifications
• Checking the operation of refitted components and supporting final quality inspections
• Working closely with the Workshop Controller, panel technicians and paint team to keep repairs progressing
• Maintaining accurate repair records and a clean, safe working environment

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as an MET Technician or Strip and Fit Technician in an accident repair bodyshop
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical and trim systems
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret and follow manufacturer repair methods accurately
• Relevant Level 3 qualifications or ATA accreditation desirable
• Hybrid and electric vehicle training advantageous
• A reliable team player with excellent attention to detail and pride in their workmanship
