Metal Cutting Operator – Raw Materials (Male)

About the role

E-CONTRACT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Metal Cutting Operator – Raw Materials (Male) to join our operations team in the East Region on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on operational role that plays a crucial part in our manufacturing process, ensuring that raw materials are precisely cut and prepared to meet our production specifications and quality standards. As a Metal Cutting Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining metal cutting equipment, monitoring production output, and contributing to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. This role is essential to maintaining the flow of materials through our supply chain and supporting the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Cut steel, alumminium and other metal materials according to specified dimensions and customer orders.
• Operate band saws, cold saws and other cutting equipment.
• Read cutting lists and basic engineering drawings.
• Perform accurate measurements using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Load and unload materials safely.
• Support packing and general warehouse activities.
• Conduct raw material, final and dispatch inspections.
• Ensure correct identification and traceability of materials.
• Utilise precision measuring instruments, including vernier calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges and measuring tapes.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
• Liaise with internal departments on quality-related matters.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in metal cutting, production or quality inspection is preferred.
• Candidates without direct metal cutting experience may be considered.
• Experience operating industrial saws is an advantage.
• Proficient in reading measuring tapes and basic engineering drawings.
• Familiar with precision measuring instruments.
• Safety-conscious.
• Detail-oriented with good documentation accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Forklift license is an advantage.
