Metal Fabrication Technician

About the Role

As a Metal Fabrication Technician, you will play a vital role in our production cycle by transforming raw materials into high-quality components. You will utilize your technical expertise to operate advanced machinery, ensuring that every piece meets precise engineering specifications and contributes to our overall manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex fabrication tasks by interpreting shop drawings and determining exact material requirements.
• Operate and calibrate metalworking machinery, including press brakes, lasers, and turret punches, to shape and cut materials with high accuracy.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling to minimize downtime and ensure operational longevity.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections on finished parts to verify conformity to design standards and internal quality protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while actively participating in site-wide safety initiatives.
• Assist in inventory management and material handling to support a seamless production flow.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during the fabrication process to maintain consistent output levels.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a metal fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical shop drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, standing, and reaching.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with CNC programming or N.C. equipment operation.
• Prior familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing setting.
