Meter Lab Technician - afternoon shift

QMC Metering Solutions supplies and integrates several meter technologies to effectively monitor the consumption of electricity, water, gas and thermal energy consumption of commercial and residential properties. We have offices in Coquitlam, Calgary, and Toronto and have a support and distribution network across the country including Edmonton and Montreal.

We are hiring a Technician to work Monday - Friday, 1pm - 9pm

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare meters for testing and labeling meters
• Confirm meter equipment selected by the sales person conforms to the requirements of the work order
• Program meters for billing and communication parameters as specified on work orders
• Operate meter test console
• Test meters for accuracy requirements to Measurement Canada standards for information purposes only
• Test meter communications options
• Create and sign meter verification certificates
• Data entry-saves certificates on server and in Salesforce under client account
• Support our Quality System by participating in audits, identifying and documenting non-conformances, corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Experience

• Experience with Quality Assurance
• College Education – Electrician apprentice /Electrical or Metering experience is an asset
• Experience working with meters test consoles an asset
• Have excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with amperemeters, voltmeters, Oscilloscopes an asset.
• Competent in a Windows Office environment, knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook a must
• Must be able to work independently and be able to multi-task
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be fluent in English
• Ability to manage high work volume and shifting priorities
