Metering Engineer

About the role

RYADTECH SDN BHD is seeking a Metering Engineer to join our team in Bintulu & Miri, Sarawak.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop metering systems and solutions tailored to client specifications and project requirements
• Install, commission, and calibrate electrical metering equipment including energy meters, power analysers, and associated instrumentation
• Conduct testing and validation of metering systems to ensure accuracy, compliance with standards, and operational reliability
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of metering equipment and related infrastructure
• Manage technical documentation including system drawings, schematics, test reports, and operational manuals
• Collaborate with site teams, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices
• Investigate metering issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and maintain system integrity
• Provide technical support and training to operational staff on metering system operation and maintenance

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in metering engineering, electrical installation, or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical metering systems, energy measurement, and power quality analysis
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations (e.g., IEC standards, local electrical codes)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, technical drawings, and system designs
• Hands-on experience with metering equipment installation, configuration, and calibration
• Solid understanding of electrical principles, circuit theory, and measurement techniques
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in team environments
• Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software tools and systems
• Preferably, certification or qualification in electrical metering or energy management
• Experience in industrial or commercial settings is highly desirable
