Manufacturing Level 2 Setup CNC Machinist

Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:00 PM

Join the Pointe Precision Team

At Pointe Precision, we manufacture high-precision components for the aerospace, medical, and recreational industries. Our work demands accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail—and it starts with skilled people who take pride in what they do.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Level 2 Setup CNC Machinist to join our team. This position is responsible for setting up jobs and proving out processes to fabricate high-quality machined parts as efficiently as possible.

As a Manufacturing Level 2 Setup CNC Machinist, you’ll play an important role in producing high-precision aerospace components where accuracy and attention to detail matter every day.

The ideal candidate will have strong CNC setup experience, particularly with Swiss-style Citizen lathes and Mori Seiki NL and NZ machines, or similar equipment, along with the ability to troubleshoot processes, interpret technical information, and consistently produce parts to demanding specifications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Read and understand intermediate G-code commands used to produce workpieces.
  • Load programs, tool offsets, and/or tool-setter posts from the DNC library into machine controls.
  • Interpret tolerances and dimensions using intermediate knowledge of mathematics, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed parts to identify defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, including an intermediate understanding of CMM operation.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, process issues, and programming errors and make appropriate corrections.
  • Calculate and set machine controls to position tools, synchronize programs and tooling, and regulate cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience

  • Five or more years of CNC machining experience.
  • Demonstrated experience setting up CNC machines in a production environment.
  • Experience with Swiss-style Citizen lathes and Mori Seiki NL and NZ machines, or similar CNC equipment, is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with high-precision components and tight tolerances is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Can help lead others toward a common goal.
  • Has strong mathematics skills.
  • Is motivated, dependable, and accountable.
  • Is detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work.
  • Can work effectively in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment.
  • Takes ownership of setup, quality, and process performance.

Our Core Values:

At Pointe Precision, our success is built on how we work together. We are looking for team members who demonstrate a commitment to our core values:

  • Respect
  • Forward-Thinking
  • Dedication and Passion
  • Teamwork
