MHE – Forklift Instructor

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable MHE (Material Handling Equipment) – Forklift Instructor to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive forklift training programs, ensuring that all participants acquire the necessary skills and safety awareness to operate material handling equipment confidently and efficiently. Your energetic approach will inspire learners, foster a safety-first mindset, and contribute to a productive warehouse environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop training modules, engage with diverse learners, and promote best practices in material handling operations.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive forklift operation training to companies in our training facility in Featherstone, West Yorkshire, and at customer premises around the Yorkshire area. We require the individual to be an RTITB registered instructor and must have their own transport which they are willing to use for work purposes to drive to customer premises and deliver training.

The hours of work are Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Salary £29,000-£31,000 depending on experience.

Duties

• Develop engaging lesson plans and practical training modules for forklift operation based on industry standards and safety regulations adhering to RTITB regulations.
• Conduct hands-on training sessions with learners, demonstrating correct forklift handling, safety procedures, and operational techniques
• Assess learner performance through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, assessment results, and certification documentation
• Communicate effectively with learners of diverse backgrounds, ensuring clarity of instructions and fostering a positive learning environment
• Stay updated on the latest MHE safety standards, industry best practices, and relevant IT tools used for training delivery
• Organise training schedules that accommodate various learner needs while maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety

Requirements

• Have their own transport
• RTITB registered instructor with at least Counterbalance, Reach, PPT
• Proven experience in teaching or instructing forklift operation / related MHE equipment
• Knowledge of IT tools used for training delivery, record-keeping, and learner assessments
• Exceptional communication skills to engage learners effectively and address their individual needs
• Ability to work independently as an instructor while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
