Microbiologist

Job Purpose

To perform microbiological testing and reporting, maintain quality standards, and support infection prevention and control through accurate and timely laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological examinations of clinical specimens including blood, urine, stool, sputum, swabs, and other samples.
• Conduct culture, sensitivity testing, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Ensure accurate processing, documentation, interpretation, and reporting of laboratory results.
• Maintain proper handling, storage, and disposal of specimens and microbiological materials.
• Identify and report critical or abnormal results promptly to the concerned medical team.
• Support Infection Prevention & Control activities through microbiological surveillance and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory records, registers, and documentation as required.
• Follow biosafety, infection control, and occupational health and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with laboratory staff and other clinical departments for timely completion of investigations.

Job Specification

• Qualification: M.Sc./BS in Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital/clinical laboratory.
• Strong knowledge of clinical microbiology, culture & sensitivity, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Good understanding of laboratory quality control and biosafety practices.

Shift:- Evening (6:00pm to 9:00pm)

Pay: Rs24,342.89 - Rs73,542.93 per month

Work Location: In person
