MICROBIOLOGIST

Position Title: Microbiologist

Work Base: Cheng, Melaka

Job Outline:

Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising overall activity in Microbiology Laboratory such as supporting in samples testing from In-coming material, Finished Product, Stability study product, Water system, Environmental monitoring and/or otherwise instructed by the Superior.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To lead the implementation and ensure compliance with applicable company policies, procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory requirements.
2. To participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
3. To plan, organize, and supervise assigned activities to ensure testing, monitoring, and reporting are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
4. To provide support for laboratory operations, sampling, testing, analysis, and the preparation of related reports.
5. To plan and monitor routine checks, inspections, and environmental monitoring activities according to established schedules.
6. To coordinate and provide training to relevant personnel on applicable procedures and work requirements.
7. To prepare, execute, review, and maintain relevant protocols, studies, assessments, reports, and other related documentation.
8. To review and verify data, records, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, data integrity, and compliance with approved procedures.
9. To report and escalate non-conformances, failures, deviations, and abnormalities to the superior, and support investigations and the preparation of related reports.
10. To ensure laboratory equipment and facilities are properly maintained, inspected, calibrated, and qualified in accordance with established requirements.
11. To monitor and support inventory management to ensure adequate availability and proper control of materials, supplies, and equipment.
12. To coordinate and provide orientation, training, and competency assessments for new personnel and interns, and ensure personnel are appropriately trained and qualified before performing assigned duties.
13. To lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and compliance.
14. To perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.
15. To undertake authorized duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable appointments, approvals, and regulatory requirements, where applicable.

Minimum Requirements:

1.     A Bachelor’s Degree in Science or other relevant fields (minimum), At least 3 years of experience as a microbiologist in a related industry.

2.     Professional Membership of any registered scientific interest group or institution where applicable.
