Microbiologist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples.
• Perform microbial enumeration, pathogen detection, and microorganism identification.
• Manage daily laboratory operations including sample receiving, preparation, testing, data recording, result verification, and report preparation.
• Prepare and maintain microbiological media, reagents, and cultures.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Support investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), proficiency testing, and internal/external audits.
• Coordinate outsourced testing and liaise with external laboratories.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, facilities, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a microbiology or testing laboratory.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025, SAMM, GMP, GLP, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or environmental laboratories is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of microbiological testing methods, aseptic techniques, contamination control, and laboratory safety practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Pay: RM3,200.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
