Microbiology Laboratory Analyst

Ø A microbiology lab assistant in pharmaceutical manufacturing supports Microbiology Analyst by preparing media, managing inventory, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and sampling & Handling routine samples under Current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Job Responsibilities

Ø Handling of raw materials, in-process goods, Finished Goods, Water system, Utility and environmental monitoring samples.

Ø Prepare microbiological growth media, buffers, and reagents following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ø Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize glassware, instruments, and work surfaces; perform routine equipment maintenance.

Ø Assist microbiologists with basic plating, sample aliquoting, and growth promotion testing.

Ø Enter sample data into laboratory systems, maintain compliance logs, and follow safety and data integrity.

Ø Adheres to safety rules and awareness, always demonstrates good safety practices, takes initiative to report and correct safety hazards. Uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) associated with assigned tasks.

Ø Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.

Ø Operates in accordance with our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, and all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements.

Ø All other relevant duties as assign.

Education: High school diploma with relevant science coursework; an associate or bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a related life science is often preferred.

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of aseptic technique and contamination control.

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and the ability to follow exact written instructions (SOPs).

Physical Requirements: Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses for extended periods.Required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear; required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment; must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
