Microsoft 365 Integration Developer – Freelance Project

About Us

Aurora Language Services is a Canadian translation company providing professional language services to clients in Canada and internationally. We are currently further developing and automating our internal business processes and are looking for an experienced developer to support us with a defined API integration and workflow automation project.

About the Project

The project involves the integration of an existing cloud-based business management platform with our Microsoft 365 environment.

The objective is to streamline several internal business processes by retrieving information from our existing system and using that data to automatically create standardized business documents and related email drafts.

The project is expected to involve a combination of API integration, custom development and Microsoft 365 workflow automation. Depending on the proposed technical approach, this may include the development of a lightweight internal application or integration service alongside Power Automate.

The project will involve:

• REST API integration and data retrieval
• Processing and mapping JSON/API data
• Conditional business logic and dynamic/repeating data structures
• Programmatic generation of fully editable Microsoft Word documents
• Creation of Microsoft Outlook email drafts
• Integration with Microsoft 365 services
• Workflow triggers and/or scheduled processing
• Data validation, error handling and duplicate prevention
• Secure API credential handling
• Deployment of a lightweight internal integration/application where appropriate

Required Experience

Candidates should have strong experience with REST APIs, JSON/data mapping and business-process automation, as well as practical experience integrating with Microsoft 365 environments.

Experience in the following areas is particularly relevant:

• Microsoft Power Automate
• Development of lightweight custom applications or integration services
• Programmatic Word/DOCX document generation
• Outlook/email automation
• SharePoint and/or OneDrive integration
• C#, .NET, Python, Node.js or comparable technologies
• Building and deploying reliable production business workflows

The solution will need to handle different document variations and dynamically generated content based on the underlying source data while maintaining the required document formatting and structure.

This is a defined project, and detailed specifications, workflow requirements, templates and mapping documentation have already been prepared. These materials will be shared with selected candidates following an initial review.

This is a project-based freelance engagement and not a full-time or permanent position. We are looking for an independent freelancer who can take responsibility for the implementation of the defined project from development through testing and deployment.
