Microsoft 365 Project Engineer

Position Summary:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful planning, implementation, migration, configuration, and delivery of client projects while ensuring a high level of technical quality, customer satisfaction, and adherence to project timelines. The role works closely with Project Manager, Technical Leads, Account Managers, and clients to execute infrastructure, cloud, security, and Microsoft 365 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Execute assigned projects according to the approved scope, timeline, and Statement of Work (SOW).

• Perform technical implementations, migrations, upgrades, and deployments.

• Provide regular project updates, risks, blockers, and completion status to the Project Manager.

• Participate in project kickoff, technical discovery, implementation, and closure meetings.

• Document all project activities, configurations, and deliverables.

Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

• Deploy, configure, and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online solutions.

• Knowledgeable and can assist with network, firewall, wireless, and infrastructure solutions, including Meraki, Ubiquiti, and other supported

technologies with current Infrastructure / Network Engineering team.

• Perform server migrations, cloud migrations, tenant-to-tenant migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.

• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Security & Compliance

• Implement security baselines, Microsoft Defender solutions, Conditional Access policies, and identity management controls.

• Assist with compliance-related projects, including CMMC, NIST, and cybersecurity assessments.

• Ensure project implementations follow security and operational best practices.

Documentation & Communication

• Create and maintain project documentation, implementation plans, configuration guides, and handover documents.

• Document lessons learned, project risks, and technical recommendations.

• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Support & Escalations

• Assist with post-implementation support and stabilization activities.

• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for project-related issues.

• Participate in knowledge transfer and project handoff to the Support Team when required.

Experience Requirements

Required

• 3+ years of experience supporting and implementing Microsoft environments.

• Experience delivering technical projects in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.

• Experience with Microsoft 365 migrations and implementations.

• Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders.

Preferred

• 5+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or project implementation experience.

• Prior experience leading technical implementations independently.
