Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect (Dynamics 365 & Azure)

1. Role Overview

We are seeking a senior, customer-facing Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect to lead solution architecture and technical assurance for global digital transformation engagements. The role is created to support a flagship programme for a multinational assurance and inspection services client, with two connected workstreams: a project management platform on the Microsoft Power Platform, and an inspection back-office platform spanning Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP Business ByDesign, Power Pages, SharePoint Online, Power BI and Azure AI. The client's longer-term roadmap includes migrating its SAP Business ByDesign ERP to Dynamics 365, so deep Dynamics 365 and Azure expertise is the core of this role.

You will be the senior technical authority on the Microsoft stack: defining target-state architectures, leading ERP migration and integration design, guiding global customers through technology adoption and change, and representing our capability in RFP responses, solution demonstrations and executive workshops.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 Solution architecture and technical leadership

• Define and govern end-to-end Microsoft cloud architectures across Dynamics 365, the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI), Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online and Azure — including Dataverse data models, environment strategy, application lifecycle management, security and scalability.
• Design the integration architecture between Microsoft and non-Microsoft systems, notably SAP Business ByDesign and third-party inspection tooling, using REST/OData APIs, Azure API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus and Event Grid; mandate single sign-on through Microsoft Entra ID.
• Produce architecture decision records, target-state and integration diagrams, non-functional requirements, security designs and build-vs-buy recommendations; chair technical design reviews and stage-gate governance.

2.2 Dynamics 365 and ERP modernization

• Architect Dynamics 365 solutions across Customer Engagement (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service) and, where the roadmap requires, Finance and Supply Chain Management, extending them through Dataverse, Power Apps and pro-code components.
• Develop the strategy and roadmap for migrating SAP Business ByDesign (finance, invoicing, purchase orders, client and location master data) to Dynamics 365: data migration, system coexistence, cutover planning, finance process redesign and SAP retirement.
• Design the transitional integration layer between Dynamics 365 and SAP, master-data reconciliation (for example client versus inspection-location records), and the data governance needed to enable location-based field operations.

2.3 Azure platform, AI and security

• Design Azure landing-zone patterns, networking, governance, monitoring, cost management and business continuity, aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Architect AI-enabled workloads using Azure AI services, including Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI and document intelligence, for scenarios such as report quality checking, document processing and workflow automation.
• Enforce Zero Trust principles: Entra ID single sign-on and conditional access, role-based security, B2B collaboration, data residency and regulatory compliance for global operations.

2.4 Global customer adoption and transformation delivery

• Lead discovery and architecture workshops with global customers across multiple geographies and time zones; translate business pain points into phased, pragmatic solutions with clear outcomes.
• Own adoption and transformation planning: current-state assessment, target operating model, phased rollout waves, change management, training, pilot/UAT, hypercare and post-go-live support.
• Oversee mobile-first field scenarios (iOS and Android, offline capability, GPS check-in) and operational analytics with Power BI, including real-time alerting and performance dashboards.

2.5 Bid leadership and practice development

• Lead the solution architecture and integration content of proposals and RFP responses, deliver client presentations and Q&A sessions, and support solution estimation and commercial scoping.
• Build reusable reference architectures, accelerators and delivery standards; mentor architects and developers; deepen our Microsoft partnership, certifications and intellectual property.

3. Essential Qualifications

• 15+ years in enterprise IT consulting or delivery, with at least 5 years designing and delivering Microsoft cloud solutions for global, multi-country customers.
• Multiple full-lifecycle Dynamics 365 implementations — Customer Engagement at minimum; Finance and Supply Chain Management a strong advantage — covering design, configuration, integration, data migration, go-live and hypercare.
• Demonstrable ERP modernization or migration experience (for example SAP to Dynamics 365), including data migration, financial process redesign, system coexistence and decommissioning.
• Deep Azure architecture experience: Entra ID, API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure AI services, monitoring, landing zones, governance and security.
• Strong Power Platform portfolio: model-driven and canvas apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI, Dataverse modelling and application lifecycle management.
• Solid integration engineering: REST/OData, event-driven architecture, SAP integration, federated identity and single sign-on, and mobile-first responsive delivery.
• A proven record of helping global customers adopt Microsoft technology — multi-region rollouts, change management, training and hypercare — with credibility at executive, operations and IT levels.
• Experience leading RFP or proposal responses, with strong presentation and client-facing skills; fluent written and spoken business English.
• Relevant expert-level Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600) or Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect Expert (AB-100); holders of the retired Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect certification (MB-700) are equally recognized; willingness to certify within 90 days where required.

4. Preferred Qualifications

• First-hand SAP Business ByDesign experience, or a completed SAP-to-Dynamics 365 migration on your record.
• Experience in inspection, assurance and certification, field services, or professional services with high-volume field operations.
• Applied AI deployments: document or report quality checking, CV and skill extraction, intelligent process automation, Copilot Studio or Azure AI Foundry.
• Experience with Microsoft partner programmes, co-sell motions and IP-based solution development.
