Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to serve as the technical engine behind our client’s ERP ecosystem. In this role, you will own the architectural design, custom development, and system integrations that directly power core business functions. You will collaborate closely with functional leads, systems architects, and business stakeholders to turn complex operational demands into clean, maintainable, and high-performance AL code.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build Modern Extensions: Design, develop, and deploy scalable AL extensions using Visual Studio Code, adhering strictly to Microsoft cloud development standards and AppSource guidelines.
• Connect Systems: Engineer, test, and optimize robust REST/OData APIs and web services to integrate Business Central with Power Platform, Azure services, and third-party SaaS applications.
• Manage CI/CD & Upgrades: Maintain automated build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps, manage version control via Git, and ensure seamless handling of bi-annual Microsoft platform upgrades.
• Troubleshoot & Optimize: Conduct deep-dive performance tuning, analyze long-running queries, debug complex environment issues, and resolve critical technical bottlenecks.
• Translate Requirements: Bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution by crafting clear technical design documentation and estimating task complexities accurately.

What You’ll Need

• Proven Track Record: 5+ years of dedicated hands-on development experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (and/or Dynamics NAV).
• Core Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in AL development, VS Code, object-oriented concepts, and event-based architecture within BC.
• Integration Expertise: Strong experience creating and consuming RESTful Web APIs, JSON, and OData services.
• Modern DevOps Tools: Direct experience managing source control, continuous integration, and deployments using Git and Azure DevOps.
• Functional Knowledge: Solid grasp of core Business Central functional domains (Finance, Inventory, Order Management, or Supply Chain).

What Will Set You Apart

• Microsoft Certification: Active MB-820 (Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer) certification.
• Migration Experience: Hands-on experience refactoring legacy C/AL code and executing C/SIDE to AL/BC cloud migrations.
• Power Platform & Azure: Demonstrated skill extending BC with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, or Azure Functions/C#.
• Performance Specialist: Demonstrated experience in advanced SQL query optimization and AL code profiling for large datasets.
