The Vacancy
We're looking for a Microsoft Fabric Senior Data Engineer to help shape the future of our data platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, building scalable solutions and turning business requirements into practical, reliable data products. You'll play a key role in supporting operational reporting across the business while leading the migration of our existing data estate into Microsoft Fabric.
We're investing heavily in our data and AI capabilities, creating an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to influence how data is managed, accessed and used across Workspace. Working closely with the Head of Data & AI, technical specialists and business stakeholders, you'll help design and implement a modern data platform that supports better decision-making and future growth.
If you're technically strong, commercially aware and passionate about building robust data solutions that make a real business impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building and optimising data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse and related Azure services.
- Supporting and improving the reporting and analytics platforms used across the business.
- Leading the migration of existing data workloads from Azure Synapse and Power BI into Microsoft Fabric.
- Configuring and supporting Microsoft Fabric environments, including OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Dataflows and semantic models
- Working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Ensuring data quality, governance, security, lineage and access controls are built into solutions from the outset.
- Establishing monitoring, logging and operational support processes for Fabric workloads and data products.
- Producing high-quality technical documentation, runbooks and support materials.
- Supporting the evaluation and adoption of Microsoft AI, Copilot and analytics capabilities where there is clear business value.
What you need
- Strong hands-on experience building, maintaining and optimising data pipelines and data models using Microsoft technologies.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Fabric and data migration projects.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory and SQL Data Warehouse technologies.
- Experience with data governance, security, data quality, lineage and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of DevOps, Git and Infrastructure as Code.
- Good Power BI, semantic model and report development experience.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
This role requires you to be in the office.
