Our client is a premier Australian residential cabinetry and joinery specialist headquartered in Brisbane. Focused on high-quality, custom residential projects—including kitchens, laundries, bathrooms, and custom joinery—they deliver precise manufacturing through modern automated workflows.   

About the role: The Microvellum Drafter is responsible for converting architectural DWG files and check-measure information into production-ready technical shop drawings. Operating remotely via AnyDesk on our client's server, this role works closely with the Production Manager to ensure designs are buildable, accurate, and structured for efficient CNC machine processing.
Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Drafting: Convert DWG files, autoCAD plans, and check-measure details into detailed, buildable shop drawings, elevations, plans, sections, and internal cabinet views using Microvellum, ready for processing error-free on the CNC.
• Production Schedule Management: Log on to the server via AnyDesk, track and update job statuses in the production schedule, and consistently meet delivery targets.
• Quality & Constructability: Ensure all drawings align with Australian cabinetry standards and company joinery preferences, ensuring panels are nested and cut properly.
• Review & Revisions: Save drafts in OneDrive/SharePoint for review by the Production Manager, make required revisions accurately, and retain information to minimize repeated questions.
• CNC Processing Preparation: Progressively handle job setup, product validation, data checking, nest generation, and CNC processing to support production.
• Proactive Communication: Work directly with the Production Manager to resolve constructability questions or missing details early in the drafting phase.

Qualifications:

• Software Expertise: Demonstrated commercial experience using Microvellum to create production-ready drawings.
• Industry Experience: Strong working knowledge of Australian residential cabinetry construction and standards (kitchens, laundries, bathrooms, wardrobes, custom joinery).
• Hardware Setup: Reliable internet connection and a home office equipped with dual monitors (essential for efficient AnyDesk server access).
• Communication & Engagement: Excellent written English skills, sharp information retention, and a proactive attitude toward asking clarifying questions early.
• Practical Mindset: Understanding of how drafted components translate to CNC nesting and cutting on the factory floor.

Nice to Have:

• CNC Machinery Experience: Direct experience with CNC processing.
• Software Tools: Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive/SharePoint.
